Amanat Bulanan Pengerusi 28.5.2018
YB Datuk Chairman highlighted the following issues :
1. |
Ongoing preventive fogging As we all know, Sibu has been a dengue prone area. Therefore, ongoing preventive fogging has been carried out by the Divisional Health Office mainly at Tiong Hua Road Market, Sibu Central Market and Sg. Merah Market. Public are advised to give their full cooperation whenever Council or DHO perform these fogging activities in their places order to destroy Aedes mosquitoes and prevent dengue cases. But fogging alone will not help in completely destroying Aedes mosquitoes thus eliminate dengue cases. As members of the community, we should also play our role in preventing Aedes mosquitoes from breeding by ensuring our compounds are clean and there is no place for stagnant water.

New parking fee collection areas For information of the public, Council will start its parking fee collection at the following areas with effect from 1st July 2018:

Illegal parking It has been observed lately that illegal parking has been rampant especially now, at the new passageway adjacent to Sibu Central Market’s Multi-Storey Car Park. Council’s enforcement officers have been going around and compounding vehicles parking at non-designated areas but have none or too little effect. As the problem of illegal parking not only causes traffic jam or brings danger to other road users, Council may resolve into taking more aggressive actions including towing in the future. I wish to advise the public to be more responsible and considerate towards others by not causing hassle or danger that may arise due to illegal parking.
