Soh expected to defend title in Sibu Tower Run

Soh is World No.1 tower runner.

WORLD No.1 tower runner Soh Wai Ching is expected to compete in the Sibu Tower Run (STR) 2023 at Wisma Sanyan on March 18.

The event is organised by Sibu Municipal Council and Sibu Underground Runners.

STR 2023 organising committee chairman Yii Souk Ming said they were targeting more than 500 participants, including from overseas, in the fifth edition of the run that was making a comeback after two years.

Yii said participants would run up the 627 steps of Wisma Sanyan, a 28-storey building which was once the tallest in Sarawak.

“We hope more people will participate and have fun with their friends and family while staying fit.”

Yii said STR 2020 attracted 300 participants including runners from the Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom and Japan.

Soh managed to record a time of 2 minutes 56 seconds during STR 2020 and 2 minutes 58 seconds at the STR 2019.
